There’s a new reason to head east this summer. The Whale’s Tale, the Northport gem known for its laid-back charm and coastal-inspired eats has officially opened in the Hamptons, bringing with it a fresh wave of flavor, community, and seaside soul.
Positioned just steps from the sand and nestled alongside the marina, the new location delivers more than just a great meal. With a 106-seat indoor dining space, a 60-seat breezy deck, and a grab-and-go beach shack stocked with artisan ice cream and local brews, The Whale’s Tale invites you to linger from midday snacks to golden hour cocktails.
“We’ve always been about capturing those effortless, joyful moments, food with soul, music in the background, and no need to check the time,” says founder and hospitality veteran Sosh Andriano. Known for his vibrant take on East Coast cuisine and nearly two decades of industry experience, Andriano teams up with Bachelorette alum Brian Autz to bring this vision to life.
The menu reflects Andriano’s Hawaiian heritage fused with East Coast classics, lobster rolls, acai bowls, fish tacos, a raw bar teeming with oysters and shrimp, and the return of crowd favorites like Taco Tuesdays. Paired with firepits, cornhole, and good tunes, it’s the kind of place where brunch becomes dinner, and a beach day turns into an evening under the stars.
This marks Andriano’s seventh restaurant and yet another coastal destination that seamlessly blends quality, culture, and comfort. He’s no stranger to creating places where people stay awhile, his restaurants consistently land just steps from the shoreline, where food meets feeling.
And the buzz is already building. With guests ranging from reality TV stars to culinary insiders, The Whale’s Tale Hamptons is quickly becoming a go-to spot for locals, weekenders, and everyone in between.
“At the end of the day, it’s about great food, great people, and that magic that only happens when you mix the two near the ocean,” says Andriano.
