Born in 1981 in Viborg, a small town in Denmark, Mads Kristensen was a self-proclaimed troublemaker and rambunctious child. Although Mads is now a heavyweight professional boxer, serial entrepreneur operating businesses spanning from construction, bars, discos, and even hosting fight events, all the way to opening the largest tattoo parlor in the world, his path and journey to achieve this is a story to behold.
Following a childhood of troublemaking, and after getting kicked out of 11 schools, by age 23, Mads Kristensen found himself heavily involved with the Hells Angels in Denmark, a famous biker group known worldwide. While riding provided him with a freedom he hadn’t experienced before, it also opened Mads’ eyes to other things. As it is through riding that he began to see a pathway to create his own future develop in front of his eyes. “Angels in Aarhus, Denmark, always loved the ‘free life’ and riding a motorcycle, so this was my first life adventure,” Mads reminisces.
It was in 2011, after leaving the angels that Mad followed his dreams, and started down the road towards entrepreneurship. His connection to the biker lifestyle led Mads towards opening a tattoo shop, allowing him to work with an already large network of tattoo lovers worldwide. Mads has since grown his tattoo parlor business to operate across Europe in places like Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and Spain.
Eventually, Mads would enter the ring as a professional heavyweight boxer. “I always looked up to guys like Tyson, Lennox Lewis, and Roberto Duran,” says Mads. His work in fight management and event management has opened up a world of opportunities, and Mads is only just getting started.
Now, following his fruitful endeavors, Mads’ has begun paying special attention to donating to charities focusing on the homeless, animal centers, and staying in touch with troubled teens much like himself, Mads has found a way to give back with his successes. “I have changed in many aspects, I think much more of my actions, what consequences they will have, and I have learned to be more patient which is very hard sometimes,” says Mads. Through hard work and determination, Mads shows us that if no matter how turbulent your past is, you can find a way to make a difference in the world.
