With the changes in the law, the use and knowledge of cannabis are evolving. While it was almost illegal a couple of years back, now it is used for many recreational purposes. The cannabidiol became CBD, and tetrahydrocannabinol became THC. But there are also many other variations that people do not know about. The delta-9 THC variation is known to be the type that makes users high. There is another variation, Delta 8 THC.
“8” in delta-8 stands for the placement of a chemical bond, one step over from where it sits in delta-9. It is slightly different structurally from the delta-9 THC.
Delta – 8 is much rare than the Delta-9 type. But it can be created with extraction. It can be made from the hemp plant by way of CO2 extraction. In the states where Delta – 9 is prohibited Delta-8 is the best option.
While CBD has minimal psychoactive effects that’s not the case with THC. Delta-8 can be psychoactive for some consumers, just less so than delta-9. The great thing about it is it can be called Weed light because it has all the good effects of Delta-9 in a controlled way.
The effects of delta-8 also include a euphoric feeling and it stimulates appetite. It can also stimulate or relax the consumer depending on the larger terpene and cannabinoid profile, similar to delta-9. And yes, it can induce some of the typical heady, psychoactive experience.
Delta-8 can do all the things Delta-9 but in lesser intensity. The best reason why people are shifting to Delta-8 because the potential negative side effects of Cannabis are reduced.
