Although rain has abandoned Andy Murray’s first doubles match at Queen’s club on Tuesday, he still has many matches to play in the tournament to entertain his fans. The British tennis player gave an interview to the media and talked openly about his hip injury recovery process. He shared many off-court fun facts, including his love towards escape rooms, an indoor game where people in teams solve puzzles to find a key to escape.
Three-time grand slam champion, Murray got injured in January and underwent hip resurfacing surgery. He returned to Queens club without much expectations from himself and said, “everyone wants to do well in their job, but ultimately all you can do is do your best. And my best now might not be what it was when I was 25.”
When Murray was asked about the escape room, he said that they are puzzle-solving exercises which are solved by team building strategies and he entered with his family and friends. Further, he added that when you start to play an escape game, you get locked in a room for 60 minutes to get out. You will be given some puzzles and clues to solve the stuff.
Murray played escape room to recover from mental stress and weakness. Since he was passing through trauma due to hip injury, it became hard for him to be mentally prepared for the tennis. Escapes games are the best to deviate the attention of the people from a fixed agenda, which luckily worked for Murray.
